Does this mean we should start smoking more marijuana than eating sweets?

With the good news(as many people refer to it) of the legalization of the medicinal and recreational marijuana in many states of the U.S let us take a closer look at its pros and cons.

Cannabis gives different "highs" to different people,it varies on your metabolism and stem cells. These effects are caused by the chemical compounds found in the plant,like cannabinoids. Hallucinations,giggles,tiredness and the feeling of being sleepy,are the most common effects caused by this drug. The Marijuana Tax Acts of 1937 was the first U.S law that made this plant's possession illegal.

Possession of cannabis nowadays is legal in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Spain, Netherlands, North Korea, Uruguay and a number of states in the U.S. Cannabis has been used for thousands of years,and in many cultures has been used in religious rituals such as in India and Nepal.

According to a 2015 Gallup poll, 44% of Americans have tried marijuana in their lifetime.
The main reason why cannabis is believed to be less harmful than alcohol or tobacco,is that there have never been any direct deaths linked to marijuana,but on the other hand millions of people die yearly of alcohol and tobacco.

Cannabis is prescribed by many doctors as a pain killer. 
This does not mean that marijuana is healthy. Since marijuana is mostly used by smoking it,it causes lung malfunction also it kills millions of brain cells causing memory loss. Also the American Academy of Ophthalmology-the largest association of eye surgeons and physicians in the world,is consistently reminding the public not to use marijuana as a cure for glaucoma.

Summing it up,the idea of this article was that the reported deaths coming from marijuana,are way lesser than those coming from other substances,whether they are legal or not. Noting that,this does not give us the reason to believe consuming cannabis is the best thing there is,since the negative effects of it change your daily lifestyle. It may not be as addictive as tobacco,but it still is.
